Last night I’m catching up on my 2 favorite shows: The Holy Rosary With Mother Angelica and Super Saints from the EWTN Network. Who doesn’t love those shows? Anybody? Oh, and if you have the box set of the first three seasons, let me know. I haven’t seen ’em. I’m still trying to figure out how Mother Angelica got so large. And mad. Don’t ruin the ending for me. It will spoil the whole darn thing.
Got a problem with it, though. I know that’s a surprise. However, there’s a quote from Saint Robert Bellarmine pasted on the show that says: “Charity is that … without which no man is saved“. This guy is a saint? Are you for real? All of these
ladies nuns are chanting the Rosary (my favorite part) for an hour that says, in part: “and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus” Hey, dude…. they aren’t saying “and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Robert“.
Hey EVERYBODY! Try looking up Ephesians 2: 8-9. It says something to the effect that “For by GRACE are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Of course, we could follow Bob’s advice and say that it is “charity” that leads us there. But, then again, Bob is an a-hole. The nuns should know that, too. Right, Mother Angelica?
And as a side note: take a look at the nuns in the show. How much excitement or interest can you possibly generate for Catholicism when you ACTUALLY GET A TV SHOW and this is how much fun they appear to be having? And that guy on the front left isn’t fooling me. Looks like somebody snuck into the show. Can’t believe that I didn’t hear a “Baba Booey” before it ended.
